"Jazz no 2" by Rhonda Long WildChild Art Gallery

Rhonda Long - Oil, Pastel, Pencil

My goal as an artist is to evoke an emotion in my viewers. My pieces are heart felt and moved me in the creation process.” The need to create was inherited, I have no choice.  I enjoy painting to jazz music. Sometimes my husband Matt will be in the music room playing his base guitar as I paint.

I dedicated the last 20 years to teaching the arts throughout my native Chicago. Five years in the adult education division at Olive Harvey College, Chicago Park District, Chicago Public Schools and others giving  workshops in airbrush, line drawing  and painting. I moved to Lehigh Acres 4 years ago with my new husband Matthew . I  became a member in the Fort Myers Art League in 2007.

Most of what I paint is the human figure. I love to paint with bright colors but pencil and pen and ink are my favorite mediums. I have been blessed to exhibit in Chicago Illinois at Shore Bank, South Shore Culture Center, The State of Illinois Building, Olive Harvey College, Edgar Metcalf Building, Rush Hospital, University of Illinois at Chicago, and DePaul University where I am currently an on-line student
